Refer to Kinesiology for a general background to this modality. Educational Kinesiology grew out of Touch for Health, by a remedial teacher, Dr Paul Dennison. It not only uses Manual Muscle Testing but also assesses the client's learning ability and coordination in relation to neurological integration.
When the client learns to integrate both left and right hemispheres of the brain there is often considerable positive changes in thinking and behaviour. The techniques are used to clear stress and behavioural blocks to improve mental ability, especially for learning disorders, difficulties in concentration and information processing/recall.
The techniques are often known as Brain Gym and Whole-Brain Integration. There has been proven success with both children and adults. Educational Kinesiology is used in many schools in Australia.
