Bell’s Palsy


Bell’s palsy is the injury or damage to the nerve that controls the muscles of one side of the face, resulting in weakness and/or paralysis in that side of the face. Symptoms occur suddenly and include twitching, weakness or paralysis, the drooping of the eyelid or one corner of the mouth, drooling, dry eye or mouth, and a difference in how things taste. Treatment options include medication such as anti-virals or steroids, anti-inflammatory drugs, acupuncture, massage, chiropractic and vitamin B12.
