Concussion


Concussion is the temporary disturbance of brain function due to a head injury. Symptoms include a temporary loss of consciousness or feeling dazed, headache, loss of memory concerning the moment of injury, vomiting, nausea, loss of concentration, and a poor attention span. Treatment options for concussion include allowing it to resolve naturally, the use of ice, observing the patient after the incident, rest, and hospitalization in severe cases.
